SCTS publishes guidance on ASSPIC and other courts during coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) has published guidance setting out arrangements for the disposal of proceedings in the Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Courts, the All Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court (ASSPIC) and the Sheriff Appeal Court during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This comes after a review of the restricted operating arrangements and is expected to provide consistency across the country.

The guidance includes instructions for criminal courts, such as solemn business, custody courts, trial diets, undertakings, intermediate diets, and remand and sentencing courts. For civil business, the guidance includes Fatal Accident Inquiries and arrangements for business in the ASSPIC.

The guidance can be read here.
