Health and Social Care Secretary, Sajid Javid has announced that the cost of coronavirus (COVID-19) travel tests from NHS Test & Trace is to be reduced from 14 August 2021. The price of one test will drop from £88 to £68 and the price of two tests from £170 to £136. In addition, there will be a rapid internal review of all private test providers listed on gov.uk to ensure that misleading pricing is clamped down on. The review comes alongside a wider Competition and Markets Authority review into exploitative behaviour in the private testing market.
