Commissioner calls for government to reopen schools amid coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Children’s Commissioner has announced that they have written a joint letter with Solace to the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, which urges Johnson to set-out a roadmap for the reopening of schools safely amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The letter calls for the government to produce a ‘clear roadmap for reopening schools to all pupils. Without it, there is a risk that the status quo becomes embedded as a default position.’ The letter also said that this would help to ‘improve trust amongst schools, teachers, parents and children.’
