Charlotte is a commercially minded Partner who advises a variety of financial services businesses on critical projects. She particularly advises InsurTech and FinTech start-ups and scale-ups, as well as insurers, brokers, Managing General Agents (MGAs) and financial broking houses in more traditional markets.
 
Her work involves regulatory compliance, conduct, product design, policy drafting and interpretation, and FCA enforcement matters. Recent work examples include:
 
·       Drafting multiple delegated underwriting agreements for a large insurtech group.
·       Advice to a multi-national InsurTech on insurance product design and regulatory outcomes.
·       Advising on drafting of policy wordings with a particular tech focus.
·       Consideration of regulatory overlay on business model for FinTech benefits platform provider.
·       Providing training and advice on SMCR implementation to various businesses.
·       Advising on regulated and unregulated structure for a particular financial product.
·       Advice on the application of cryptoasset regulations to UK businesses.
·       Consideration of regulatory scope and Principle 11 disclosure assistance for an Insurtech broker.
 
Charlotte also has broad experience of contentious matters, having spent many years defending insurance backed litigation and advising on policy coverage, including during several client secondments. Her technical understanding of the contentious insurance environment has proven extremely useful when assisting clients with non-contentious/advisory issues.
 
She has close links to the insurance industry, including being actively involved with InsurTech UK, Insurtech London and membership of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Charlotte is often asked to present on business-critical topics for clients and external providers, as well as moderate and speak on industry panel sessions.
