Graeme Palmer

Graeme Palmer specialises in commercial and tax law. He has broad experience in various commercial transactions, including corporate structuring, the sale and acquisition of businesses, and drafting and advising on commercial contracts. In addition, he provides advice to South African businesses on their domestic tax issues.

In 1996 he graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with a Bachelor of Social Science degree, from which university he also obtained his law degree in 1998. Graeme thereafter went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Taxation in 2002 and a Master’s degree in corporate law in 2010 from the University of South Africa.

After being admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2000 he spent two years with a law firm in Durban, South Africa before re-locating to London. During the five years he spent in London he worked for the Department of Trade and Industry. Graeme returned to Durban, South Africa in 2007 and practised at a local law firm providing commercial law services until he joined Garlicke & Bousfield as a Senior Associate in 2012.

Graeme is a member of the Kwazulu-Natal Law Society and a registered tax practitioner with the South African Revenue Services. He regularly writes articles for a local newspaper on tax related matters.
