Peter Frost

Peter is recognised as one of the UK's leading employment lawyers, with over 30 years of experience. He has become one of the key practitioners to whom employers turn when they need to achieve the best outcome in a "bet the house" dispute.

He has advised on a variety of complex and high profile projects and disputes in both the public and private sector. He has advised on employment structures, joint ventures, outsourcings, mergers/demergers, and board reorganisations. Peter also has wide experience of dealing with issues involving trade unions.

Peter is an active member of the Employment Lawyers Association and has been a member of various working parties consulted by the UK Government regarding potential employment law reforms including the most recent changes to the TUPE regulations.

Peter Frost is co-chairing (with Paul Goulding QC of Blackstone Chambers) an initiative designed to investigate the potential of arbitration and ADR as alternative means of resolving employment disputes. He has worked with clients to develop internal ADR schemes including workplace mediation schemes. Peter is a partner sponsor of Herbert Smith Freehills' Multi-culturalism and Disability staff networks.

Peter's leading cases include Bahl v The Law Society of England and Wales, Hanover v Schapiro, Brierley v Asda, Sharpe v Bishop of Worcester, Pemberton v Acting Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham and three recently reported decisions acting for Marathon Asset Management LLP.
