Emily Waters
Emily is an Associate at Freeths LLP specialising in Dispute Resolution. Emily graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2016 with a first-class honours degree in Law and went on to study the SQE at The University of Law while completing her training contract at Freeths, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2025.
During her training, Emily gained experience across a broad range of sectors, including Commercial, Property, Intellectual Property and Media, Family, and Construction. Her work spans both contentious and non-contentious matters, including Court Litigation and Arbitration Proceedings. Emily also undertook a secondment at British American Tobacco, where she managed commercial agreements and assisted with projects relating to distribution and supply chains.
During her seat in Intellectual Property, she contributed to the drafting of updates for the Protection of geographical indications UK and Protection of geographical indications EU practice notes.
Emily advises on high-value and complex legal claims, providing practical and strategic guidance throughout the litigation process. Emily has acted on behalf of both claimants and defendants, working with a breadth of clients including business individuals and corporate entities.
