Bart Van den Brande

Managing Partner, Sirius Legal Business Law Firm

Bart is managing partner and one of the founders of Sirius Legal Business Law Firm in Belgium. He has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2001.

Bart is specialised in IP, media law, new technologies and consumer protection. He has acquired experience with various clients, such as online marketers, advertising agencies, companies in the platform economy, artists, tech startups, and app, software and web developers.

Besides his work as an attorney, Bart is active in the academic field. He is a DPO and teacher at Data Protection Institute and a regular guest lecturer at Universities and Colleges across Belgium.

In addition, Bart is a Member of the Board at Smart Cities Law Firms, Arbitrator in data protection and IT related cases for Arbiters.be, and Chairman of the IT and Data Protection Practice Group at Consulegis, which is an international network of independent law firms. He is also one of the founding partners of Smart Cities Law Firms, where he is a Member of the Board.

In Belgium, Bart is an active member of the editorial board at IE-Forum.be, member of IAPP, member of the EU AI Alliance, member of Blockchain Flanders and member of the legal committee of the Belgian Association for Marketeers BAM.
