Henry Edwards
Henry Edwards is a barrister practising in all areas of intellectual property law, including IT and media and entertainment cases. He undertook a GDL at City University, for which he was awarded distinction, and he won a prize on the BPTC for his performance in advocacy exams.
Patent work currently includes inter-RAT handover in mobile phones, heat not burn and e-cigarette technology, high-tech exercise devices and digital overlays and augmented reality in sports broadcasting. He is currently instructed in a jurisdiction dispute about Standard Essential Patent licensing and a dispute about estoppel in the context of the standard setting process.
Copyright and media work include Pasternak v Prescott, a publishing dispute about books on the life of Boris Pasternak and a case on the liability of internet search engines for copyright infringement, breach of data protection legislation and defamation.
Confidential information work includes a case on rights in low latency data feeds from live sports matches.
Henry is a contributor to the new CIPA Patents Training Manual for trainee patent attorneys which will be released in early 2021.
