Lara Oyesanya

Lara Oyesanya, Legal Counsel and Director at Klarna Bank AB UK, is a solicitor admitted in 1993. She was formerly Vice President, Legal Counsel at Barclays and is a former Head of Legal at Lex, part of HBOS (now the Lloyds Banking Group). Lara is also a barrister having been called to the Bar in Nigeria in 1982 and practised at the Commercial / Chancery Bar for four years. Lara's practice has been largely in-house at FTSE 100 firms including BAE Systems and RAC plc, as well as in industry at British Rail. Lara was in private practice at Hammonds in Manchester and McKinnells in Lincoln. An editor of the Encyclopaedia of Banking Law, Lara has also published articles in Legal Week, the Law Society Gazette and reviewed books for the Solicitor's Law Journal. She is a member of the Commerce & Industry Group and formerly its Director for Professional Standards on its National Executive Committee. Lara is a law graduate and holds an LL.M in Comparative Company Law. She is married with five children.
