Stephen Hockman, KC
Stephen Hockman KC took silk in 1990, became head of chambers at 6 Pump Court in 1997 (now joint head) and was the Chairman of the Bar in 2006.
The focus of his professional practice is regulatory, environmental and health & safety law. He has made a special study of the law relating to climate change, on which he speaks regularly, and is working on a proposal for an International Court for the Environment (ICE). He is the joint author of Collinson and Hockman on Energy Law (published by Lexis Nexis).
He is a former member of the Council of English Nature (now Natural England), the statutory body charged with nature conservation, and of the Advisory Group on Sustainability for the Ministry of Defence. In the voluntary sector, he is a past chairman of the Environmental Law Foundation, a former trustee of ClientEarth and a former member of the Advisory Council of Advocates for International Development.
