Antonia Panayides
Antonia Panayides is a partner in Reed Smith's global Transportation Industry Group and a leading shipping and offshore lawyer. Based in London, she advises shipowners, charterers, energy companies, offshore contractors, managers, brokers and insurers on complex contractual, regulatory and dispute-related matters across the maritime and energy sectors.
Antonia has significant experience advising on offshore projects, including vessel chartering, project support arrangements and the complex contractual issues that arise in the development and operation of energy infrastructure.
Antonia is particularly known for her work on decarbonisation, sustainability and the legal challenges arising from the energy transition. She regularly advises clients on FuelEU Maritime, emissions-related regulations and contractual frameworks designed to address evolving environmental requirements across the shipping industry.
Named as one of Lloyd's List's Top 10 Maritime Lawyers in 2024, Antonia is a recognised thought leader in the industry. She serves on BIMCO drafting committees, including those responsible for the FuelEU Maritime Time Charter Clause and WINDSEACON, helping to shape industry-standard contractual provisions.
Antonia is also actively involved in promoting diversity and inclusion within the maritime sector through her work with WISTA (Women's International Shipping & Trading Association) and as EMEA Chair of Reed Smith's Women's Initiative Network.
