Nicola Hogg
Nicola has a practice across property, contract, family and public law. She regularly appears in the Sheriff Courts, Sheriff Appeal Court, and Court of Session.
Since calling Nicola has advised on property matters relating to missives, servitudes and title disputes. Nicola was a commercial litigation associate in a large city law firm for over 7 years specialising in property litigation. She continues to advise in contractual and commercial matters, including environmental appeals.
In family matters she deals with permanence, children’s referrals, divorce, cohabitation, s11 contact and interdicts, pre-nuptial/separation agreements and relocation disputes.
In public law matters Nicola worked at a high level in local government for over a decade, dealing and advising on complex matters. She has been instructed since calling in judicial reviews, relating to social care and housing. And in disability discrimination and placing appeals for the Health and Education Chamber, First Tier Tribunal.
With a strong background in private practice and local government she gained a Law Society Accreditation as a Child Law Specialist in 2017. She has been a curator for the Court of Session. Nicola regularly provides training and speaks at conferences on advocacy and decision making. She tutors at the University of Edinburgh, Diploma in Legal Practice for Civil Court Practice.
