Lucy Robertson
Lucy is a mid-level associate in Baker McKenzie’s IP and Technology team in London. She joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in September 2020 and qualified in September 2022. Since qualifying, she has developed a broad and commercially focused practice spanning intellectual property, commercial law, and consumer protection across a range of industries.
During her time at the firm, Lucy undertook a six-month client secondment with a leading global consumer goods company. In this role, she worked closely with business teams to provide practical, day-to-day advice on IP, brand protection, and commercial matters. This experience has given her valuable insight into the operational realities and strategic priorities of clients, enabling her to deliver advice that is both pragmatic and business-oriented.
Lucy’s practice includes advising on complex IP licensing and transactional matters, including the sale and acquisition of intellectual property assets. She also supports clients on broader strategic IP issues and brand protection, as well as contentious matters, assisting clients in navigating disputes and enforcement strategies.
She has a particular interest in the consumer goods and retail sectors, as well as pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Lucy has further strengthened her expertise through the UCL Intellectual Property Transactions course and is currently completing the University of Oxford postgraduate diploma in Intellectual Property Law, complementing her practical experience with advanced academic training
