Partner and Co-Head, Regulatory, Fieldfisher
Sarah is a partner and co-head of Fieldfisher's Regulatory department with a particular focus on Healthcare and Life Sciences. Sarah is a key member of the firm's Digital Health group. Acknowledged as a leading individual in Healthcare Regulation, she is often involved in strategic advice in relation to regulation and compliance such as development or implementation of new regulatory frameworks or supporting innovative businesses as they navigate the regulatory landscape. She has helped draft and develop new regulatory frameworks for new professions and scientific processes (such as mitochondrial donation) and she has supported innovative businesses, for example in online health and pharmacy services for start-ups as well as global multinationals.
 
Drawing on her public and administrative law experience, Sarah provides independent audit, investigation and compliance review services to Boards and Senior Executive Teams. She will often work with them to manage their ongoing regulatory relationships and evolving compliance requirements. She has worked with leading pharmaceutical companies such as Roche Products and Novartis and for a wide range of medical device companies.
 
She has brought four successful challenges against NICE and frequently engages with the MHRA to resolve issues for our clients. She has threatened, brought and defended judicial review cases in the health and life sciences sector. Her experience with healthcare professionals and membership of ABHI Digital Health Group add unique perspective to her advice.
 
She has chaired and spoken at national and international conferences on regulatory frameworks in health, life sciences and social care. Sarah is the only lawyer in the UK ranked Band 1 by Chambers & Partners for Healthcare: Regulatory. Sarah was the Editor of the international Healthcare Law Review from 2015-2021.
