David Alcock

David Alcock is a partner with Anthony Collins, a social purpose law firm working to improve lives, communities and society. The firm became a registered B Corp in January 2023. David’s career began in inner city Birmingham, as benefits caseworker at Aston Legal Centre. Having qualified as a lawyer, he joined Anthony Collins in 1998 as a trainee solicitor. On qualification his work began with governance for community regeneration projects, and has developed into supporting all kinds of organisations using enterprise to achieve a social purpose. He writes constitutions and advises on corporate design, including on promoting the co-operative principles through legal structures.
 
He is instrumental in the firm’s support to Co-operatives UK and to the wider co-operative movement, including acting as Chair of the Co-operative Governance Expert Reference Panel. He leads on the firm’s work on credit unions, and has advised on investment options, products including credit cards, as well as drafting bespoke and model rules.
