Calum Crighton
Calum is Head of Energy at Gilson Gray LLP and is a dual-qualified solicitor (Scotland & England) with over 20 years’ experience advising clients in the energy sector.
Calum has over 10 years of in-house experience, including as Legal & Commercial Manager at Fairfield Energy during the Dunlin Cluster Decommissioning Project.
Calum also sits as the Chairperson of OEUK’s Legal Issues Forum and as Non-executive Vice Chair of the UK based trade body, Decom Mission.
He works with operators, service companies, contractors, and joint venture partners across the UK and internationally, which includes:
- Decommissioning – guiding clients through one of the most challenging phases of the energy lifecycle, ensuring compliance while managing cost and risk;
- cross-jurisdictional contracts – structuring agreements that stand up to scrutiny across multiple legal systems; and
- joint ventures & supply chain – negotiating agreements that build collaboration while protecting interests.
Calum started his career in CMS’s oil & gas team, and has spent time in-house with Talisman Energy, Premier Oil and Fairfield Energy as well as time in Pinsent Masons’ oil & gas team.
