Venetia is Counsel in Dentons' London office. She is a member of the Regulation & Investigations team, with extensive expertise in all aspects of retail financial services regulation. She has a particular focus on insurance regulation, consumer finance, redress issues and the application of the Consumer Duty.
 
Venetia has a broad range of experience and detailed understanding of FCA regulation derived from nine years at the FCA drafting and advising on regulation, Venetia has been involved in some of the most significant regulatory change projects in recent years, including drafting of the Consumer Duty and the FCA's work on general insurance pricing practices.
 
She regularly assists clients in navigating regulatory restructuring issues, authorizations and supervisory engagement with the FCA across a broad range of conduct issues.  Venetia also advises on the development of new products and services and the implementation of regulatory change. Her experience includes advising firms in the insurance sector on price and value and Consumer Duty considerations alongside perimeter queries on the scope of insurance activities. She also has extensive experience in the application of CCA requirements and the consumer finance perimeter, having spent time on secondment in a consumer finance firm.
 
Venetia supported the unsecured consumer credit working group on the implementation of the Consumer Duty for a UK industry association and has spoken on the Consumer Duty to a range of industry associations.
 
Her clients include a wide range of regulated firms including banks, insurers, consumer credit firms, mortgage providers and payments firms.
