Patent litigation expert Will James has an exceptional track record handling patent litigation for some of the largest technology-driven companies in the world, especially in the life sciences and medical devices sectors. Since joining Osborne Clarke in April 2019, Will has
been appointed as international head of the firm's Life Sciences and
Healthcare sector group.

Will is leading the complex multi-jurisdictional biotech disputes between Amgen and Sanofi & Regeneron in relation to cholesterol lowering drugs, and together with Trevor Crosse acted for Amgen in its dispute with Janssen relating to biosimilars of Stelara. Will has recently been instructed on a new innovator matter to defend against generic entry of a blockbuster cancer drug. In addition to patent disputes, Will advises on IP strategy and has developed novel commercial audit products that allow clients to best
realise value from complex ecosystems of registered and unregistered IP.

Will is one of a small group of patent experts that sits on the IP Advisory Committee of the BioIndustry Association (the trade body for life sciences and biotech companies in the UK) and their sub-committee on AI in the life sciences. Will is a patents tutor for the
Oxford University Postgraduate IP Diploma.
