Toheeb Amuda
Toheeb Amuda is the Managing Partner at Lawvocate Attorneys, a firm of lawyers, investment consultants, and arbitrators based in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a qualified lawyer with cognate experience in international arbitration and commercial litigation. Toheeb holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in International Business Law with Distinction from the University of Law, London, United Kingdom. He was a member of the Commercial Dispute Resolution (CDR) team at Howard Kennedy LLP, London, from 2022-2023.
Toheeb’s legal practice has seen him involved in a wide array of commercial and investment arbitrations under the rules of prominent international bodies such as the ICSID, LCIA, ICC, DIAC, AAA/ICDR, and UNCITRAL, as both counsel and tribunal secretary. Additionally, he has represented clients in litigation before Nigeria's superior courts, including the High Court, Federal High Court, National Industrial Court, Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court. He has also assisted in litigation in the courts of England and Wales, from the County Courts to the Supreme Court. These disputes range from banking and finance, construction, mining, manufacturing, commodities, employment and general corporate matters.
In September 2024, Toheeb won the Young Arbitration Practitioner of the Year Award at the Africa Arbitration Awards in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This prestigious recognition celebrates outstanding contributions to arbitration by a practitioner under the age of 40.
