Josh is an associate solicitor at leading London based media and technology law firm Sheridans. Josh’s practice focuses on advising clients within the entertainment, sports and creative sectors on a range of commercial and intellectual property rights issues. He has a particular expertise in emerging ‘new’ media such as podcasts and online streaming, often helping clients develop and operate novel business models. Music artist’s merchandising agreement (pro-licensee)

Precedents

This is a music artist’s merchandising agreement, drafted in favour of the merchandiser (ie the licensee), whereby the merchandiser acquires certain rights in merchandise featuring the artist. These rights (including rights of sale, manufacture, distribution and sub-licensing) are granted in exchange for an advance against royalties from sales payable to the artist.
