Shannon Fahy
Shannon is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation team at Browne Jacobson’s Dublin office. Shannon acts for both domestic and international clients in relation to a range of commercial disputes, with her key focus area being Intellectual Property.
She has experience working on both contentious and non-contentious IP matters including those relating to trade mark protection / infringement, defence and prosecution of trade mark challenges brought before the IPOI and EUIPO, copyright infringement, passing off, IP portfolio management, brand protection, patent infringement, and IP due diligence for corporate transactions, etc.
Shannon is also a registered Trade Mark Agent in Ireland and a registered representative at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Shannon has advised a range of clients including food & drink manufacturers, entertainment & media companies, design companies, pharmaceutical / medical companies, hospitality businesses, engineering companies, AI technology companies, biotechnology companies, manufacturing companies, automotive companies, and technology start-ups.
Shannon has also advised social media clients as well as businesses using such platforms, in relation to injunctions and takedown requests, in the context of IP infringement and defamation claims. She is well-versed in the workings of the Digital Services Act and how it impacts intermediary service providers. Shannon has well-rounded knowledge on how to assess takedown requests received by intermediary service providers, having previously worked in-house as a secondee for one of the world’s largest social media companies.
