Ashleigh Wong is a Partner and Head of the Contentious Probate and Disputes Department at Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors.
Having joined the firm in August 2025 to establish and lead the department, she was appointed Partner in July 2026 following the continued growth and success of the team.
Ashleigh advises clients on a wide range of contentious probate matters, including contested wills, Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims, and disputes arising from the administration of trusts and estates. She is regularly instructed in complex cases involving allegations of undue influence, financial abuse, elder abuse and the misappropriation of assets.
Recognised as a Key Lawyer in The Legal 500, Ashleigh is known for her strategic and pragmatic approach, helping clients navigate some of life's most sensitive and emotionally challenging disputes. She also serves as a Dispute Resolution Expert for LexisNexis, reflecting her specialist knowledge in this area.
Ashleigh has a particular interest in protecting vulnerable individuals and their families. As an Accredited Lifetime Lawyer, she has undertaken additional specialist training in supporting older and vulnerable clients, enabling her to provide advice with sensitivity, clarity and compassion.
She is an Associate Member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and is actively involved in a number of professional organisations, including Women in Wills, the Inheritance Dispute Resolution Law Network (IDRN), ConTra and the Northern Contentious Probate Group, demonstrating her commitment to developments within the contentious probate field.
Ashleigh obtained a 2:1 BSc (Hons) degree in Pharmacology from Newcastle University before completing her Graduate Diploma in Law at Northumbria University and the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, Manchester. She qualified as a Solicitor in June 2016.
Before specialising in contentious probate, Ashleigh acted for major insurer clients in high-value and complex insurance fraud litigation, including cases involving organised fraud networks and professional enablers. During her training contract with Taylor Wimpey, she also gained experience in commercial acquisitions and residential property matters.
Ashleigh's commitment to supporting the wider community has been recognised through her voluntary work. She was shortlisted for Corporate Volunteer of the Year at the 2019-2020 Partnership Awards for her contribution to IntoUniversity, a charity supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds across the UK.
Outside of work, Ashleigh is a passionate yoga teacher and enjoys spending time in nature, particularly hiking in the Lake District.
