I8.104 Relevant property not subject to an interest in possession

There are specific charging provisions for settled property in which there is no interest in possession. The property is known as relevant property1 and is subject to a ten-yearly periodic charge, with a further charge when it ceases to be relevant property2.

The specific provisions dealt with in this Part which can affect the value of relevant property are:

    •     A minimum value is placed on a policy on a person's life or an annuity which becomes payable on a person's death, if the beneficial interest in the policy or annuity
