I12.201 Lifetime planning—introduction

Generally speaking, the task of devising an estate planning strategy for a client will have two principal strands. First, the possibility of lifetime planning must be addressed. Secondly, the client's testamentary arrangements will need to be examined to ensure that the dispositions to be made on his death are structured so as to provide the best result from and IHT perspective. Ideally these should be tackled together.
