I11.213 Transfers into settlements

The transferor is primarily responsible for delivery of an account of his transfer to trustees1, but need not do so if the trustees have delivered an account2 for example pursuant to an arrangement with him that they will deliver the account and pay the IHT. If IHT is unpaid after the due date the trustees become liable to pay the IHT as the persons in whom the property is vested3. For chargeable transfers on or after 6 April 2014, they are then liable to deliver an account (if no one else has done so
