D9.403 Transfer of securities

A transfer of securities occurs1 on:

  1.  

    (a)     a transfer by sale, exchange, gift or otherwise;

  2.  

    (b)     a conversion that is not within (a) (see D9.427);

  3.  

    (c)     redemption of variable-rate securities (see D9.426);

  4.  

    (d)     a strip of a gilt-edged security or the consolidation of gilt strips into a single gilt (see D9.429);

  5.  

    (e)     an issue of new securities with an extra return (see D9.425);

  6.  

    (f)     an appropriation to or from trading stock (see D9.428);

  7.  

    (g)     the owner's becoming entitled as trustee (see D9.432); or

  8.  

    (h)     their ceasing to be held on charitable trusts (see D9.438).
