D7.572 Investment assets

The rules in this division apply for accounting periods beginning before 1 January 2013. For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2013 see Division D7.4.

Investment assets are defined as those assets that are not management assets1 and therefore refer to those assets from which the company derives income (for example plant and machinery in investment properties) rather than those which it uses for the purposes of carrying out its trade of life insurance.

Capital allowances on investment assets are treated as referable to the category of business to which the income arising
