D7.5138 Qualifying charitable donations

The rules in this division apply for accounting periods beginning before 1 January 2013. For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2013 see Division D7.4.

Like all companies a life insurance company may set qualifying charitable donations (charges on income prior to the rewrite to CTA 2010) against its total profits and in theory there is no restriction on setting off qualifying charitable donations referable to its life insurance business to just the profits arising on that business.
