D7.5128 Actual Case I

The rules in this division apply for accounting periods beginning before 1 January 2013. For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2013 see Division D7.4.

For periods of account beginning before 1 January 2007, the term 'actual Case I' referred to those instances when the company was assessed to tax under Schedule D Case I as if it were a trading company. This contrasted with the use of the term 'notional Case I' which was used as shorthand for the calculation of trading profits or losses for the purposes of comparing the result with the I-E basis, determining whether there needed to be any restriction for management expenses and ultimately for
