Video games tax relief

D7.1258 Video games tax relief—qualifying conditions: overview

Video games tax relief takes two forms, additional allowable deduction and video game tax credits1. The additional deduction is 100% of qualifying core expenditure and the payable tax credit is 25% of losses surrendered.

Video games tax relief counts as state aid under EU rules. State aid approval was given by the European Commission2 and these measures apply for accounting periods commencing on or after 1 April 20143.
