C3.1815 Other CGT exempt assets

There are a number of capital gains tax exemptions relating to specific types of asset, either without limitation or, more commonly, by reference to defined conditions of ownership, use etc. Those not covered elsewhere in this Division are listed here.

  1.  

    •     Certificates and bonds. Savings certificates, defence bonds, national development bonds, children's bonus bonds and premium savings bonds which are non-marketable securities issued under the National Loans Acts 1939 and 1968 or any corresponding enactment of Northern Ireland are not chargeable assets1. For this purpose, 'savings certificates' means savings certificates issued under the National Loans
