C2.707 Disposals after 31 March 1982 (corporation tax)

These matching rules apply for corporation tax purposes notwithstanding that a different method of identification (eg by specifying numbered shares) was stipulated in the disposal arrangements. But where a company holds securities in more than one capacity, a disposal of securities held in one capacity cannot be matched with acquisitions in a different capacity1.

A disposal is matched with acquisitions in the following order:

  1.  

    (a)     Securities acquired on the same day as the disposal, treating all such acquisitions as having been made as a single transaction
