C2.203 Assets coming to be owned without being acquired

Where the asset which is the subject of the disposal has come to be owned by the disponor without having been acquired, the allowable cost is any expenditure wholly and exclusively incurred by the disponor in providing the asset1. Assets falling within this category would include goodwill of a business commenced by the disponor; patents registered by the inventor of the device or process; and copyrights owned by the author of the work.
