C2.1009 Option binding grantor to transactions other than sale or purchase

References to options include options binding the grantor to enter into any other transaction which is not a sale, and references to buying and selling in pursuance of an option are construed accordingly1. For example, the grantor of an option binding himself to grant a lease at a premium is in the position of the grantor of an option binding the grantor to sell. If the option is exercised, the grant of the option plus the grant of the lease for a premium are treated as a single transaction,
