C1.312 Nominees and bare trustees

Transactions between nominees and the persons for whom they so act, and transactions between 'bare' trustees and beneficiaries absolutely entitled, or who would be so entitled but for infancy or disability (such as mental incapacity), are ignored, and acquisitions or disposals by the nominee or the trustee are treated as the acts of the persons for whom they act as nominee or trustee1.

Trustees of bare trusts, treated as such for tax purposes, are not required to complete self-assessment tax returns or make tax payments, the beneficiaries being liable to give details of the income and
