B6.721 ATED—different interests held in the same dwelling

Where a company or a collective investment scheme holds two or more SDIs in the same dwelling for one or more days in a chargeable period, the ATED legislation has effect for the chargeable period as if those separate interests constituted just one SDI, the taxable value of which on any day is the sum of the taxable values of the separate interests1.

In calculating the taxable values of the separate interests their market value is to be determined2 on the assumption that the interests are placed on the open market together
