B5.814 Validation of charitable trusts

Because of the decisions in the Oxford Group1 and Ellis2, and in consequence of the recommendations of the Report of the Committee on the Law and Practice relating to Charitable Trusts3, legislation was introduced whereby instruments containing imperfect trust provisions in respect of property to be applied or held for charitable purposes only were validated4.
