B5.322 Rights in performances

The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 confers statutory civil rights of action on performers whose live performances are recorded or broadcast without the performer's consent1. Performances qualify for protection if the performer, performance or exclusive recording organisation has an appropriate link with the UK, a Rome Convention2 country or a country enjoying a reciprocal protection3.
