B5.321 Moral rights

The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 created express moral rights in favour of the authors of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works and the directors of films. The new moral rights are those of paternity1; the right to be named as author or director, integrity2 and the right to object to derogatory treatment of a work. Related to the right of paternity is the non-author's right to object when a work is falsely attributed to his or her creation. Lastly, there is a very limited right of privacy to protect individuals who commission photographs or films
