B3.904 The relevant interest

Assured tenancy allowances are not available for any expenditure incurred after 31 March 1992, see B3.901.

The relevant interest means:

  1.  

    (a)     in relation to any expenditure incurred on the construction of a building, the interest in that building to which the person who incurred the expenditure was entitled when he incurred it; and

  2.  

    (b)     in relation to a dwelling house comprised in such a building, the relevant interest in the building, to the extent that it subsists in the dwelling house1.
