B1.407 Similar trading interests

Where there is an established trade already in existence, the first possibility to examine is whether a particular transaction or series of transactions is part of the trading activities. This is a question of defining the scope and nature of the trade. The next possibility to examine is whether a transaction or series of transactions forms a separate trade or venture in the nature of trade. In this case, the nature of the existing trade will colour the interpretation of the transaction or transactions in question1.
