A6.334 Grants, subsidies, licences and approvals

A6.334 Grants, subsidies, licences and approvals

A person who:

  1.  

    (a)     makes payments of grants or subsidies out of public funds1, or

  2.  

    (b)     issues licences or approvals, or who maintains a register2

is a relevant data-holder.

A payment is made out of public funds if it is provided, directly or indirectly, by the Crown, any government, public or local authority (whether in the UK or elsewhere) or by any EU institution3.

Relevant data which may be required for those in (a) above is:

    •     the name address of the person to whom payment has been made or on whose behalf the payment has been
