9.3     Termination

As discussed in 9.1, most employment relationships in the US are 'at will' and terminating an employee is often a straightforward process.

However, employers should be aware that US employees are notoriously litigious and the majority of employment-related lawsuits in the US are related to employment termination. It is therefore recommended that employers be fair and transparent in their termination process.
