Foreign nationals coming to India on employment must register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (INRO) if the period of employment exceeds 180 days. If the period of employment is less than 180 days, there is no registration requirement. This requirement is mandated by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (MEA).

Similarly, particulars of visa extension, contract renewal must be furnished to the FRRO.

After the contract is complete, upon exit from India, the foreign national must furnish the information to the INRO on their portal. In some instances, the exit filing process may be completed
