HMRC online services: gradual roll out of new online service

HMRC are trialling a new online service called “Your tax account”, aimed principally at businesses. This will make it easier, quicker and simpler for customers to deal with HMRC online.

“Your tax account” will help people running small businesses to manage all their tax affairs from one place. They will be able to—


    —     see an overview of their tax records


    —     make payments for certain taxes


    —     access help, guidance and interactive tools.

“Your Tax Account” will also include a new Digital Self Assessment service enabling customers to view messages online instead of getting paper letters.

This will start with a small number of paper products and be widened to include other products during 2014 to 2015.

Over the coming months and throughout 2014, HMRC will gradually invite more businesses to try “Your tax account”. HMRC will be inviting customers to sign up to “Your tax account” when they log into their HMRC online services account. As this is a trial, the invitation may not appear every day, or to everyone.
