V1.262 The Treasury

The office of Lord High Treasurer is executed by a Board of Commissioners created by Letters Patent under the Great Seal1, and comprises the First Lord of the Treasury (the Prime Minister), the Chancellor of the Exchequer (who is also Under-Treasurer) and a number of Junior Lords who are appointed by the Crown on the nomination of the First Lord. The Board is assisted by the Chief Secretary, the Financial Secretary, the Paymaster General and the Economic Secretary. The Treasury is managed by the Treasury Management Board.
