Inaugural LexisNexis User Conference Provides Insights into Legal Practice Issues, Innovations and Best Practices
Customers Gather to Share Industry Knowledge, Glean Best Practice and Celebrate Peer Achievements
London, 22nd November, 2010 – LexisNexis UK, a leading provider of content-enabled workflow solutions, held its first Enterprise Solutions User Conference 'Transformation 2010' in Birmingham. The conference, held on November 3-4, attracted more than 200 legal professionals and included product workshops, keynote presentations and live case studies. The event also provided insights into technology developments, business issues, innovation and best practice. Also during the User Conference, several law firms were recognised with the LexisNexis Vision Awards for their innovative uses of technology in one of six categories.
LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions customers gained insights from industry leaders on methods to combat macro industry challenges such as the economic crisis and the looming Legal Services Act, as well as the day to day issues of matching technology with business requirements, all of which impact today.s modern law firm.
Vision Award Winners
'Innovation of the Year' was awarded to Roythornes, which introduced an innovative risk and compliance management application powered by LexisNexis® Visualfiles®.
The 'Team of the Year' award was given to Hempsons, a specialist health and social care law firm that implemented LexisNexis® dna and thereby facilitated sustainable compliance by standardising and automating key business processes.
Within the individual categories, Neil Davison of Farrer & Co. was recognised as 'IT Strategist of the Year'. This accolade honours his achievements overseeing a team of 13 people, harnessing their talent to implement a technology and process change project.
'IT Achiever' award went to Phil Whitehead of DWF LLP for overseeing a project involving the roll out of Visualfiles and LexisNexis® InterAction® CRM software across an organisation with more than 1,200 employees.
Wiggin LLP was recognised for its 'Finance Strategy'; maximising the impact of its BI solution, which analyses data in order to identify key opportunities.
The 'Business Development Project of the Year' award went to Sarah Parker at Shoosmiths for using InterAction to help lawyers manage and execute a training programme aimed at in-house lawyers that provides not only legal, but also soft skills training. This project ensures users have access to campaigns, and educates users where data is held to support the initiative.
