LexisNexis Tolley Tax Training Students Achieved Pass Rates as much as 37 percent above the National Average

London, 14th September 2010 - LexisNexis UK (, a leading provider of content-enabled workflow solutions, today announced that Tolley® Tax Training students achieved exceptional results in the recent examinations set by the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and Chartered Tax Advisers (CTA). The Tolley Guaranteed Pass Scheme (GPS) students achieved pass rates over 30 percent higher in their ATT exams and 37 percent higher in their CTA exams than the respective national averages. GPS students achieved a pass rate of 96 percent in the ATT exams against a national average of 65 percent, and in the highly demanding CTA exams, nearly 82 percent of the GPS students succeeded against a national average of 45 percent.

Tolley Tax Training is unique in the training market, being the only organisation to provide training exclusively for the professional tax examinations. The training includes a traditional correspondence course, modular classroom and revision courses, and access to an Online Academy to help aspiring tax practitioners achieve their full potential. Tolley Tax Training is now available in seven centres nationwide.

Simon Groom, Head of National Tax Training at Tolley commented: "I'd like to congratulate all of the students who passed their exams. These are a truly exceptional set of results and are a testament to the hard work put in by all of our students, supported by our experienced tutors and innovative study system."

"These test results underline the need for regular study and exam practice, as well as technical knowledge and examination technique. Our Online Academy, which allows students to study anytime, anywhere, has proved particularly popular in helping students to ensure that they are perfectly prepared for the examinations. I am delighted that students throughout the UK can now benefit from the Tolley experience following the opening of our new training centres in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, and Edinburgh," continued Groom.

Yugna Shah, a Tolley Tax Training student and Tax Senior at HW Fisher & Company, said: "I just wanted to say a big thank you to Tolley Tax Training - without their persistence and aid it wouldn't have been possible. The course materials were great, the tutors fantastic and very approachable."

The Guaranteed Pass Scheme was introduced by Tolley as experience showed those students who follow the Tolley training programme have a very high chance of passing the examinations. When students enrol on the complete Tolley Tax Training course package, they automatically qualify for the Guaranteed Pass Scheme. In the unlikely event that a student fails, they will be given one free correspondence course and one free revision course. The scheme is structured in such a way that it motivates students to keep up-to-date with their study programme and attend all classroom classes.

Tolley Tax Training achieves its exceptional pass rates for two main reasons:

- Innovative study materials enable students to focus specifically on the requirements of their particular examinations. This, coupled with its online offering, means that students can maximise their study time, and study whenever and wherever they want;

- A dedicated tutor and client services team whose unrivalled knowledge of the examinations and student options mean that all queries can be answered in one place. They offer the best service because they only offer training for the tax exams.
