London Law Firm Selects Integrated Business Process Management System from LexisNexis

dna to deliver integrated document management; standardise and automate workflow at Payne Hicks Beach for efficiency and productivity gains

LexisNexis, a leading global provider of Practice and Productivity Management solutions, today announced that London law firm Payne Hicks Beach (PHB) Solicitors has chosen to deploy LexisNexis Axxia dna as its web-based, business process management system of choice. This will enable the firm to standardise and automate its business processes to significantly increase overall business efficiency. Previously, the firm was using Axxia as an accounting and time recording system.

Following a thorough investigation of the market, PHB chose Axxia dna for its integrated platform, flexibility, customisability, scalability to support a growing practice, and clearly defined product development roadmap. Further, the company’s proven track record and stability also contributed to its decision.

PHB will use Axxia dna as an integrated document management and workflow tool that will allow the firm to enhance its current business processes. In addition, Axxia dna will upgrade fee-earners' desktops, offering improved time recording and reporting capabilities. This will enable fee-earners to maximise client budgets by reducing their time on administrative tasks to deliver a greatly enhanced customer service. Axxia dna will be used by about 110 users including administrative staff and fee-earners.

Virginia Farquharson, Director of Finance and Administration, Payne Hicks Beach Solicitors, commented, "Even though our experience of Axxia as an accounting and time recording solution has been excellent, we surveyed the market to consider all possible options - it is important that the solution we deploy best meets our needs, now and in the future. Axxia dna most closely matched our business requirement. For us, a single, integrated system is not only more cost-effective, but from an implementation perspective is much easier to deploy. It will take away the hassle of integrating multiple systems and instantly deliver efficiency benefits to users and the practice alike.

"LexisNexis' proven ability to implement projects of this size along with the team's expertise and understanding of the legal professional was clearly evident to us during our discussions."

LexisNexis Axxia dna is a business-centric application that brings together practice management, business process management, business intelligence and resource planning. It is the first business management system that has been written specifically for the legal sector.

Doug McLachlan, Commercial Director for Mid Law, added, "Today, automation is crucial for firms to ensure agility in a fast paced, competitive and constantly changing legal business environment. dna has been expressly designed to deliver this agility to the legal sector through a single unified system.

"Further, dna appeals to both businesses and users. For instance, dna will reduce the administrative burden for fee-earners at the firm, allowing them to concentrate on the more important tasks. The business on the other hand will reap the benefits of those efficiency and productivity gains for the larger good of the practice and its customers. We are looking forward to a continued relationship with PHB."
